Former MHI Vestas CEO Jens Tommerup is elected to SeaTwirl’s board of directors

The former CEO of MHI Vestas Jens Tommerup was elected as a new member of SeaTwirl’s board of directors at an extra general meeting on Tuesday.
“I have followed SeaTwirl’s development for some time and am now looking forward to be part of the journey towards an established product”, says Jens Tommerup.

“There has been a lot of talk about floating wind power for many years. Many solutions have been proposed and, in some cases, built as full-scale prototypes. What is now clear is that floating wind power will become a very big market. SeaTwirl is an interesting construction with bright prospects for success”, continues Tommerup.

Tommerup was the CEO of MHI Vestas Offshore Wind since the company’s inception in 2014 until April 2018 and helped build the company into one of the leaders in offshore wind power. Before MHI Vestas he had successful spells as head of Vestas China and later as head of the merged Vestas business area Asia/Pacific and China. MHI Vestas Offshore Wind was formed as joint venture in April 2014 when Danish Vestas and Japanese Mitsubishi Heavy Industries combined their businesses within offshore wind power.

Tommerup joins a board consisting of Roger Cederberg (chairman), Daniel Ehrnberg (inventor and founder), Charlotte Bergqvist, Pontus Ryd och Peter Laurits.
