SeaTwirl is part of the Swedish business delegation in Canada
SeaTwirl's partnership with Aks Wind has been selected as one of three national success stories to be presented to the delegation
SeaTwirl is participating in the Swedish business delegation to Canada, 18-20 November 2025, held alongside the state visit by the Swedish royal couple. SeaTwirl’s partnership with Aks Wind has been selected as one of only three national success stories to be presented to the delegation.
On 18 November, Sweden and Canada launched a new Strategic Partnership, signed by Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, strengthening cooperation in clean energy, innovation, and the green transition. The delegation, led by Minister for Energy and Business Ebba Busch and Minister for Defence Pål Jonson, is the largest-ever Swedish business delegation to visit Canada and aims to deepen trade relations, foster innovation, and accelerate industrial collaboration between the two countries. This high-level visit—held in parallel with the state visit of the Swedish royal couple—creates a valuable platform to strengthen bilateral cooperation, foster innovation, and unlock new partnerships within clean energy. SeaTwirl’s role in the electrification track reflects its strong position in floating offshore wind and its relevance for Canada’s clean energy ambitions.
Following our collaboration agreement signed in June, SeaTwirl and Aks Wind are exploring opportunities for floating offshore wind in the deep waters of British Columbia.
As part of the program, the delegation will participate in Sweden–Canada Innovation Days 2025,an invitation-only conference funded by Vinnova and The Swedish Energy Agency International. SeaTwirl has been invited to present its success story at the event, where SeaTwirl’s CEO Johan Sandbergwill speak together with Aks Wind.
Canada is a very promising market for SeaTwirl, with strong winds, deep waters, and a clear commitment to the green transition. Through our partnership with Aks Wind, we are well positioned to contribute to Canada’s future energy mix, especially in British Columbia. We are grateful to Business Sweden for inviting us to present our story. It will be an honour to share it with royalty, ministers, and business leaders
says Johan Sandberg, CEO SeaTwirl
We extend our sincere thanks to Business Sweden for the invitation and for recognizing our work.
