SeaTwirl launches EU project

On September 1st, SeaTwirl launched the project that recently got financing from EU’s SME instrument.

“We’re very proud to have received this grant of 2.48 MEUR from the EU. We will use the money for part of our SeaTwirl S2 project”, says CEO Gabriel Strängberg.

The grant will be used for detailed construction and project management, as well as marketing and commercialization of SeaTwirl’s S2 1MW turbine. With the SME instrument, the EU supports “breakthrough innovation projects with a market-creating potential” with money as well as coaching and business acceleration services.

“We’ve found a coach with extensive experience in advising smaller companies and have together with him set up a plan. When it comes to accelerating the commercialisation, we will among other things map the needs of different countries and plan for how best to enter the different markets”, says business developer Efva Willén.

The project runs for 24 months.
