02 / seatwirl’s identified markets
Oil and gas platforms
The production of oil and gas accounts for almost 15 % of the world’s climate emissions. A significant part of these occurs on platforms far out at sea. The green transition means that even these emissions need to be quickly reduced and production switched to renewable fuels. The opportunities to solve this with conventional technology have been few, but SeaTwirl with its unique technology, to be able to build wind power in deep water, addresses exactly this market and can thus contribute to reducing the burning of fossil fuels in the production of oil and gas.
Wind farms
It is estimated that this market will increase dramatically in the future. Energy experts estimate that 7% to 11% of Europe’s electricity will be generated by offshore wind by 2030. With its unique set of features for wind farm owners, SeaTwirl is poised to play a role in this development.
Fish farms
Offshore fish farms is another potential customer segment. These installations require power on a smaller scale, normally between 0.5 to 2MW to deliver electricity to feeders, pumps, and auxiliary equipment.
Island and remote locations
Supply of power is uncertain in many remote locations and demand for locally produced power is rising. SeaTwirl can offer a steady supply of energy and a greener profile to inhabitants on the remote islands, to hotels and other stakeholders in the tourist industry.
